Infant

Step into the gentle world of Montessori at The Journey School's Infant Program. Here, our Montessori-trained caregivers provide a nurturing space where sensory exploration and emotional development flourish. Through carefully curated materials and gentle routines, infants engage in activities that stimulate their senses, promote motor skills, and foster a sense of security and trust. Even our littlest ones enjoy quality time outside in nature, providing fresh air and sunshine.

In Montessori education, Sensitive Periods refer to the periods of time during which a child is particularly receptive to certain types of learning and development.

According to the American Montessori Society, the sensitive period for order is evident at birth as the newborn child responds to daily routines. These routines reflect the structure provided by the adults in the child's life as they respond respectfully to the child's needs and maintain an orderly environment. Maria Montessori referred to this period in a child's life as the stage of the unconscious absorbent mind, when children have the innate drive and capacity to absorb large amounts of information from their environment effortlessly and without conscious thought.
